About us

A practical hub for people who put live television on air

Our trainers come straight from UK newsrooms, talk studios and live event galleries. We turn what they learned under pressure into clear, repeatable training.

Our story

Built from real gallery experience

reportlyo began as a series of internal workshops for a regional news broadcaster. Producers kept asking the same questions: how do we connect new equipment without breaking the old, how do we keep dialogue clean in a reflective studio, and how do we stay calm when a feed drops?

Today we run courses and consultancy days for news programmes, interview formats and live shows across the United Kingdom. Every session is hands-on, with real equipment and real run sheets.

Our values

What we stand for

  • Reliability first

A live show only gets one take. We teach routines, back-ups and checks that protect the broadcast.

  • Craft you can see

Good framing, clean sound and honest lighting are visible to every viewer. We train the eye and the ear.

  • Crew over kit

Equipment is only as good as the people using it. Every course builds shared language across the gallery.

How we teach

Light, sound and motion, in that order of care

We start with the room: acoustics and lighting decide how much work every other tool has to do. Then we tune cameras and signal paths, and finally we rehearse the process around them.
